Colouring Tutorial : Alcohol Backgrounds!

Tuesday, December 20, 2016

Hi everyone! I'm popping to today to share a fun little video tutorial with you all on creating simple Alcohol Ink Backgrounds! You can use this technique with any image to create some visual interest and it works great on stand-alone colouring pieces or as backgrounds for your colouring and cardmaking projects.

Materials used

- Selection of Alcohol Inks
These can be any brand and in any colour but I've used my Copic Various Ink Refills in colours B99, B91, BG01, and BV02. Try to pick a dark and light base colour (I've used a dark and light blue) with a few brighter accents as a good starting background
- Rubbing Alcohol
I've used Isocol which is 100% Isopropyl. You can use your Colourless Blender Fluid if you have this.
- Small egg cup or bowl to put the rubbing alcohol in
- White Gel or Paint pen, or a small paint brush and white paint

The image I've used here is Smells Like First Snow by The East Wind - isn't she gorgeous for your Winter/Christmas projects! :D As part of our Advent Calendar of Giveaways in our Facebook Group, today you can receive 35% off all stamps from The East Wind store using coupon code KNCADVENT2016 *Valid until December 31
