Casting Down Imaginations
Thursday, August 23, 2012Hi everyone! It's my turn to host the challenge over at Crafts and Me this week and the theme is Autumn Colours. I would love it if you could pop over and enter - and don't forget you don't have to use a Crafts and Me image to play along :)
For my card this week I have used Casting Down Imaginations. Beautiful folds in her dress! I don't have ANY autumn papers so this was tricky for me! I am hagning out for my new paper pads to arrive...should be any day now!! :)
I have played along with the current sketch over at Live and Love Crafts...isn't it a beauty! Nice and layered...perfectly my style :) hehe. Here are the copic colours I used on her:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R11
Hair: E41, E43, E47, E49
Dress: YR000, YR02, YR07. E15
Wings: BG000, G000, G00, BG72
I have a question for all of you too...I was considering selling some of my cards as they are just piling up now lol! Could you please let me know your thoughts on if it is worth me selling them and where the best place to sell them is? I have heard mixed reviews so would appreciate any advice :) I feel silly trying to sell my cards though - you all make such beautiful cards...why would you want mine? hehehe!! :D
Don't forget to pop back tomorrow too as there is a fun little suprise! Can't wait to show you! :D Thanks for stopping by!
Challenges that I am entering with this card:
Live and Love Crafts - Sketch
Creative Belli - Winged Things (I have used some of my older flowers and I found these little stamens in a drawer...I don't even KNOW how old these are ;)
Ruby's Rainbow - Butteflies
Stamp n Doodle - Lots of Layers
LEJ Designs - Vintage
Tuesday Throwdown - Squares

ReplyDeleteI think you would be able to sell you cards easily, they are by far some of the best I have seen - honestly!
Hugs Sue
oh yes...you have a good inventory by now...and your coloring is exquisite...I think you'd do ok selling your cards. I have a shop in Etsy so I'm biased--but it works for me. You can always try out Etsy and see how it works for you!
ReplyDeleteLovely card btw...just gorgeous as always!
Gorgeous! She looks tough to color, but boy you did a fabulous job!!
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering the same thing about selling my cards. I have a few regulars that come to me for cards, but one is out of state and I was wondering about using ETSY. Let me know what you come up with. I might dig a little deeper into the ETSY shop today, I'll let you know what I find out. (you could make a ton of $$ with these gorgeous cards!)
totally gorgeous..

ReplyDeleteI sell my cards for £2 each hun for the 5x5 size ones. I take a box to work sometimes and my mum takes some to the pub with her sometimes and they normally all sell.
Hope that helps a squidge
huge hugs Lou xxx
Alyce, I absolutely love all the layers you used on this beauty! Oh, my! Such fab coloring again, and wonderful embellishments! Just gorgeous! And I have no idea how you go about selling your cards, except on Etsy. But I would be very happy to buy one! :^)

This is so stunning Alyce..The folds in her dress are amazing, gorgeous colours, and love the layers and flowers...beautiful.
ReplyDeleteE-bay seems to be the place that a lot of the girls have their cards on to buy.
Luv CHRISSYxx
Stunning card and image beautifully coloured especially those folds and love the butterfly

oh, your cards are gorgeous! i'm sure they would sell. i guess there are pros and cons to it though. like shipping and packaging. i've seen some folks just sell it on their blog. like create another page and list their cards with a price. i think places like etsy and ebay you have to pay to list items?? i'm not sure, but that is what i've heard. good luck with whatever you decide!
ReplyDeleteHi Alyce, what a pretty fairy, the image had such a romantic look!! Hugs Frea
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous card hun! Beautiful image and such gorgeous colours, love the layout too :o)
ReplyDeleteI've sold my cards fairly successfully on Ebay, but got out of the habit of listing them... I have regular customers who buy from me too, but the cards are still mounting up a bit! Hugs, Lisa x
Hi What a stunning image so beautifull coloured ! Your design take on the sketch is fantasic too ! Thank you for joining us in the August Challenge at Live & Love Crafts Challenge Blog ;0)
ReplyDeleteWell you may not have any Autumn colored papers (you did pick the challenge though silly!) but it is still lovely and I think your choice of colors for her dress and the flowers really make it seem "fallish". And we have already discussed selling cards but it looks like you might already have a following! I say go for it, what will it hurt?
ReplyDeleteAlyce this is a beauty! your colours are stunning together. Joey xx
ReplyDeleteWow Alyce I could stare at those folds all day long. Amazing card and YES sell your cards. If you are on facebook open up a page there just for selling. Open an account on etsy or ebay and off you go! I sell mine all locally though. Word of mouth is great, get a stamp for the back of your card or run through the computer giving your details. That's how I started. I rarely have a card left to send myself lol. If you need any more info just email me. But you will have no bother once you get them out there.
ReplyDeleteHi Alyce!
ReplyDeleteFirstly I must apologise for being so behind!! I don't think I'll ever catch up again but I really am trying.
Your card is a stunner..I am always in awe of your superb colouring and you have the perfect touch when it comes to adding just the right balance of embellishments.
Sellings cards: I am of no use here as I've never thought to sell any, mainly because I make so few that I still end up buying about 80% of the cards I need to send!
But I would love to buy one of your cards if you will ship to the UK?
Big hugs
Elaine xxx
Seriously lady... YOU ARE AMAZING!! Alyce, I LOVE this and your colouring... Honey your just one the best out there and are truly an artist!! Stunning work honey! You rock! Xx
ReplyDeleteStunning card and colouring Alyce...Loz
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and image!
ReplyDeleteI think this is my fave Crafts & Me image ever! :)
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking colouring Alyce, such a beautiful and captivating card with stunning embellies!

Alyce, YES!!!YES,YES,YES you should sell your cards. You now how I feel about your cards, they are stunning! like the other girls have said you can use Etsy.com I have no idea what they charge. Some girls make a spot on their blog and post their cards their and they call it "CARDS FOR SALE" (hahaha that's funny) One girl charges $10.00 plus shipping, another charges $7.50 plus shipping and I have seen them cheaper. I sell my cards at a restaurant gift shop here in town. That works out great. You can try Beauty shops or if they have small galleys. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteHugs!!
Hi Alyce!! This card is just GORGEOUS!! I love those autumn colors.
ReplyDeleteAs for selling your cards ABSOLUTELY!! I have lots to say about that so email me where you live when you get a minute. LATA!!
Alyce, this is amazing. Your coloring is just wow!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful – adorable – breathtaking! Seems like I can't build a whole sentence right now (I'm really flashed) *lol*! Love the hair, the folds in her dress and of course the wings – all because of your incredible coloring.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure many of us would love to buy your cards even though I think it will be hard for me to actually get one because your pieces of art are very popular ;o)
I know some girls sell their cards on Etsy or directly on their blogs. Have you ever heard of DaWanda (it's a place to sell handmade stuff, but I don't know if you have access to it in Australia)? Maybe that's an option, too.
Hugs, Anja
WOW!!!! How many times have I said that here, Alyce?! Your colouring of course is outstanding as usual and your embellishing is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHave a fab weekend honey!
Fabulous creation!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in the fun at Ruby’s Rainbow challenges for our * Butterflies * challenge
Hope you will join us again
Hugs Shaz x
Oh sweetie your cards are stuuuuuuuuuning!! Love your you shade with your colouring♥♥
ReplyDeleteAbout selling your cards I'm so sure you will be able to sell them! Put them up for sale! I have the same problem with mine piling up and I haven't put them up for sale.. just given them away to friends and family.. I know I should be selling them instead to save money for more goodies..
Gorgeous card! I love the rich colours you have used and your colouring is great! Thanks for taking part in Ruby's Rainbow's 'Butterflies' challenge xx
ReplyDeleteHi hunny, how are you? Yes you should def sell your cards, you would have no problems as they are stunning. I use ebay to sell mine, and you build up regular buyers. Packaging and shipping can be a pain sometimes especially with having to make card boxes. I will send you an email to explain what I do and I know several others do it to.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card btw! Stunning colouring as always
Hugs

Maybe you should write an e book on colouring?! xx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful image and great great coloring. Fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous creation! Love love the coloring in the folds of her dress and I see you've used another one of those tempting butterflies!!
ReplyDeleteShelby
Your coloring is fabulous and I would think you can get top dollar for your cards. The styles and what you put into them is great. I am exploring my options with Ebay, Etsy and local craft fairs. The local events are where I am getting my cards sold. I also gave some for charity auction and that would get your name out, make sure every card has your blog and name ect on it. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteKelly
Sell, sell, sell!!! We, your faithful followers already know they are worthy of purchasing; however, there's a whole big world out there that needs to know about them. Best of luck to you. I sell mine in a local store, right next to a lady that sells "store generic cards", she doesn't like me much..LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI could melt in the folds of your cards. Beautiful work yet again. :)
your cards are so fabulous, of course you should sell them - wish I could sell mine.
ReplyDeleteGood luck x
I was so amazed with the card I didn't even see the part about selling your cards! A definite YES!! They're so beautiful and know you'll see so many Alyce! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteLynn
Hi dear Alyce, I would if I would be you... selling your cards... as they are brilliant, each one of them. And although I am making cards by myself I would buy the one or other from you, as it would be so special to hold an original made by you in my hands... which is quite different as to 'just' see them on a photo on your blog. I am selling mine too, but mostly at my working place to colleagues, or at craft fairs where I go one or three times a year.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend hun!
Hugs, Karina

Oh my giddy aunt! I don't know where to begin with this gorgeousness! so I'm going to resort to "STUNNING!!!!!!!!" What a talented girlie you are!
ReplyDeleteYour colouring is amazing and your cards are gorgeous! Of course people would want to buy them, I have sold mine on eBay, but the fees are relatively high for a short time. But, I used it to gauge what people will pay, I now sell on easy (just opened my shop a few days ago) and they're listed for a lot longer.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous take on our sketch
Thanks for joining us for this challenge at
